About the game:

In Scorched Ember, you play as a park ranger who is up against a wild, spreading bushfire. You’ll need to use controlled fires and other dry firefighting methods to stop the fire from burning down all the vegetation and animals. Can you save the Savannah?

Gameplay

The player takes over the role of a park ranger who is assigned to the most critical parts of a national park to help stop the quickly spreading bushfires. As the game is located in the dry Savannah, the player has no availability of water in order to fight the fires and instead has to use tools such as controlled fires and sand to hinder the fire from spreading further. Furthermore, the direction of the wind adds more difficulty to stopping the fire, as the fire is influenced by the wind.

As the national park is not only home to many different plants but also animals, the player has to additionally watch out for the safety of specific animal groups. If predator and prey animals exist in the same section of the park, their natural instincts of killing and running away will overshadow their reaction to the spreading bushfire. Calculated usage of the steak tool supports the player in his task of saving the animals as well as the vegetation.
